Cryptid #78: “Therapy”

Class: Naiad/Ladon

Procedures: Cryptid #78 is to be stored in a Large Artifact Containment cell, with Level 1 access. The cell is to be painted a light blue, and lightly furnished. Indoor wall fountains have been asked of by the asset, and are being considered. Personnel experiencing detrimental mental states such as depression, intense anxiety, phobias, PTSD, high levels of stress, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, and related illnesses, are to be granted access to the asset.

Description: #78 is a ████████ Brand Sleeper Sectional couch, weighing 76.5 kilograms, and measuring 4.56 meters. When laid upon, 78's anomalous effects commence, causing immense serotonin release, similar to that seen in common antidepressants. After exposure, subjects will report extreme drowsiness and fall asleep on the couch. subjects claim they dream of being inside the containment cell, along with a balding, middle-aged man wearing a tweed jacket (78-1). All the dreams follow a similar pattern, with 785-1 acting as a therapist toward the subject, talking through the patient’s past, trauma, and disorder. Subjects will wake up following termination of the therapy session, and report feeling a sense of well-being and happiness, with the majority of patients having their disorders cured. Subjects with very severe depression or PTSD will require several interactions with 78-1 before symptoms vanish. 78’s anomalous effect is only contained to symptoms before interaction, so it is possible to relapse after exposure, although recovery is easier and quicker. If a subject has no mental illnesses or trauma to work over, the anomalous effect will not manifest. It has been determined that there is no major reason for 78 to not be used for its intended purpose, and it has been deemed safe to be used.

Recovery Note 1-78: the asset was found during a recovery mission of an escaped reality bending asset who had a schizophrenic break during therapy. The asset was recovered, but the therapist was presumed MIA. 78 was discovered when the employees hired to salvage the building reported similar dreams of being in therapy with a man identical to 78-1. Statements suggest the entity was the therapist, who is currently MIA. Testing evidence pointed towards the __ brand sleeper sectional couch salvaged.  The Therapist is still presumed dead
