Document #066-1:  Exploration Log

Grunt No. 1352 is a 26-year old Caucasian male of lean build and average appearance and slight psychopathy. Grunt Designation is a result of demotion due to corruption of high-security level data. Grunt No. 1352 is equipped with a handheld camcorder fitted with wireless transmission stream, food for 24 hours, a texting application, and an audio headset for communication with Mobile Command 207.

Grunt No. 1352 enters 066, and anomalous effect is triggered. 1352 appears to be alone, with a door in front of him.

Command: Mic check, mic check.

1352: Here you loud and clear, boss.

Command: What do you see in there?

1352: I’m in a room, about six by six I think? Doors surrounding me. [pause] Looks really crappy in here, peeling walls, horrible paint, the works. Not even spiders wanna be in here by the looks of it.

Grunt 1352 pans the camera around, showing three other doors on the rest of the walls, surrounding 1352 in a box.

Command: Alright, survey the area, see if you can find a way out of sixty-six.

1352: Roger that.

Command: Pick a door and stick with it. If you hear any sounds, call it out.

1352: Got it.

1352 picks a door to his initial right and opens it. It leads to an identical room, with an identical decrepitude. 1352 continues straight, opening the next door in front of him. Another identical door. The cycle continues for 15 minutes. Then 1352 stops, looking around.

Command: What’s the holdup Frank?

1352: [murmuring worriedly] They’re all the same.

Command: It’s alright Frank, you get outta here, drinks on me, how about that?

1352 nods, and laughs nervously

1352: Yeah, I’ll take you up on that ████, we’ll have a great… [pauses] Do you hear that?

Command: No, lemme turn the gain up.

Mobile Command turns the gain up on Grunt 1352’s headset and hears the noise. They hear knocking. It is rhythmic, continuous, constant.

1352: W-what’s that?

Command: Open one of the knocking doors.

1352 opens the nearest door, revealing nothing but an identical room.

Command: It’s nothing but the anomaly, Frank. Keep moving.

1352: Ok, ok. I got this. Nothing like that time back in [RESTRICTED], right?

1352 hurriedly runs through door after door, seeing nothing but the same, identical room. He runs for around 7 minutes, going straight (Note: this should be impossible under Euclidean Geometry, and the dimensions of the building. Is it a pocket dimension, or folded space?). All the while, the knocking is getting louder.

1352: [moaning] I can’t get out of here, I’m gonna be stuck!!

Command: Don’t panic Frank, it’ll be fine I swear. [away from the microphone] how loud is the knocking now?  [muffled words] Are you sure! Climbing? Shit Frank you gotta get outta there!

1352: [panting and still running] I’m trying man, Jesus. I can barely hear you over this noise!

1352 has curled into the fetal position, rocking and moaning, in an identical room. Knocking: 120 decibels. 1352 has dropped the camcorder onto the floor, with the lens facing himself. The knocking is too loud to communicate, so Command has resulted to using the texting application

Command: frank come on! jesus fuck you gotta find a way out of there

Command: ill beat your ass if you dont get out of there cmon you fuck

1352: its tooloudicant thinkkkkklk

1352 abruptly stands up and walks toward the wall. The He draws back his fist and punches the wall as hard as he can. He punches through the wall again and again, until he has punctured the drywall. He then inserts his arm into the hole, fumbling with something. He then withdraws a long wooden splinter. Knocking: 140 decibels.

Command: frank wtfh are you doing dont do it stop man

1352 shoves the splinter into his ear, scream overshadowed by the knocking. 1352 withdraws the splinter, exchanges it to his right hand, and shoves it into his right ear.

Command: FRANKSTOP PLEASE

1352 looks shocked, and looks around. He then sprints through a random door, away from the camera. No texts received for 13 minutes.

Anomalous effect ends, Grunt No. 1352’s body is found and retrieved from just past the door he first entered. Subject’s body found to have puncture wounds in the upper jugular, and died from blood loss, presumably by the splinter of wood. The splinter was not found.
