Cryptid #69: “Ghost Ship”

Class: [Undetermined]

Destruction procedures: Three RIM-162 Evolved Sea Sparrow missiles to be fired from our DD(X) Zumwalt class guided missile destroyer unto the hull of the carrier, at its present location in the Bay of ███████.  Pending approval of the ICC.

Description: #69-1 is an independent-class escort carrier named [REDACTED]. A ship with that name and the serial numbers discovered are not found on any production logs or Naval fleet registrations.  330 was found drifting in the ███████ Ocean by a civilian fishing trawler. The crew report seeing the ship disappear, presumably teleporting to its present location.  The ship has a faint cognitohazardous effect which makes it difficult to concentrate on the anomaly or retain memories of the ship past  â–ˆâ–ˆ days. The ship contains six F6F Hellcat fighter planes and a single TBM avenger torpedo bomber on the flight deck.  The flight deck appears to be empty from any perspective, except when on the flight deck itself. Along with the aircraft, 69-2 can be seen. 69-2 man of about 50 years in age in a janitorial uniform, commonly mopping the deck. It appears to have a crushed chest, broken left arm and leg, and lower left mandible appears to be missing. The apparition’s disabilities are in line with mechanical injury. 69-2 is reported to be able phase through 69-1. There have been no reports of him leaving the ship. Lower decks comprise of dark corridors only to be lighted by red emergency light. The pipes lining the corridors carry steam, diesel, squid ink, and [RESTRICTED]. The fluids carried are all at temperatures hot enough to kill a human instantly upon contact, upwards of  â–ˆâ–ˆâ–ˆâ–ˆ degrees . It is common for the pipes to burst when personnel walk past them, covering them with the fluids.

On Deck 3 it is common to see incorporeal, seemingly normal humans (330-3) carrying munition around the deck, from 1400 to 2000 hours. 330-3’s route can take them through structures, which they past through without harm or deviation from their path. If approached, the munitions explode, while leaving the apparitions and the 330-1 intact. The ships metal can repair itself, and the munitions seem to be self-replenishing. Instances to board the ship when the museum/tourist attraction section is closed 2400-400 results in the subject(s) being tied by rope in a bag made of cloth and thrown overboard.

Decks 01 and 02 are filled with a liquid tentatively identified as squid ink. If A person stays in the liquid for more than two minutes, the ink will turn into a viscosity similar to tar, and cause the subject to be slowly sucked into the ink. Only in one subject survived this process, but had to have their legs amputated due to the suction of the ink. Signals cannot be sent or received while inside the hull, whether electromagnetic or sounds. Expedition members report that they are unable to look through 330-1’s portholes or doors, reporting darkness. Testing the ship’s composition has proved impossible due to its abnormal resistance to thaumatic and physical injury.
